Dear Beagle Middle Parents,
It was another fast week here at Beagle Middle, and our students and staff geared up for homecoming by donning their blue/gold and Comet gear on Thursday and Friday this week. In addition, we had the Grand Ledge Marching Band perform throughout our hallways this morning, which was an excellent surprise for our students. We thank Mr. John Szczerowski, GLHS Band Director, and his marching band students for coming to Beagle today; it was amazing!
Here are some updates that we wanted to pass along at this time:
Grades, Homework, and Planners: As we have discussed in the past, Beagle Middle students receive actual letter grades throughout the trimester just as they will in high school. We encourage our parents to continue to monitor student grades throughout the trimester using Parent Portal. While Tuesdays and Thursdays are dedicated homework/study days during CNC class, students will have a small amount of homework and study preparation at home on a consistent basis. Student planners are a great way to see what is happening in the classroom on a day-to-day basis. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your student’s assignments or grades, please be sure to contact the specific staff member via email.
Fundraiser and Day of Awesomeness: On behalf of the PTO, we would like to thank our families and students that participated in the Step It Up! fundraiser. Proceeds from the fundraiser help to support the PTO to better support our students and teachers. On Friday, October 14th, students that participated in the fundraiser or contributed directly to the PTO will be able to engage in the Day of Awesomeness, which will be facilitated by the company hosting the fundraiser. The Day of Awesomeness will run from around 12:40-2:10 on Friday afternoon for eligible participants, and we will have an altered bell schedule on Friday to accommodate this event. School start and end times will remain the same.
Monday, October 17th Half-Day: Classes begin at 7:55 and the day ends at 10:50. On half-days, students do not report to CNC.
Joint Hayes/Beagle PTO Meetings: Joint Hayes/Beagle PTO meetings are being hosted in a hybrid-fashion this year with the in-person opportunity being hosted here at Beagle in our media center. Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30-7:30pm. Our next PTO meeting will be on Tuesday, October 11th. We welcome parents to attend our PTO meetings either in-person or virtually.
