Highlights and Happenings from Ms. Smith
It’s been a short but busy week here at Wacousta. Our teachers are looking forward to connecting with you next week during parent-teacher conferences. These meetings are such an important opportunity to celebrate your child’s growth, share goals, and work together to support their continued success. The partnership between home and school truly makes all the difference, and we are so thankful for the support and collaboration of our families.

As we head into the long weekend, I hope you take some time to rest, recharge, and enjoy a slower pace with family and friends.

The Power of Reading Aloud
These past several weeks, I’ve been sharing a lot about the importance of reading aloud at home. It’s one of the most powerful ways to build your child’s vocabulary, imagination, and love of reading! Whether it’s a bedtime story or a few pages after dinner, those shared moments make a lasting impact.

For some great tips and book recommendations to make read-aloud time fun and meaningful, check out this Scholastic Raise a Reader Blog.

November’s Lunch Menu
Check out November’s lunch menu at grandledge.nutrislice.com. This website is helpful to check the breakfast and lunch menu of any building in the district. You can check for nutritional information, filter allergens, and translate the menu into 50+ languages! It's a very helpful tool for parents and staff members.

PTIA Supporting Our Staff
The Wacousta PTIA will be sponsoring staff meals for school conferences. We are still in need of a few donations to complete this effort.  Please click on this link to see what items you might contribute. All items should be at the school no later than Tuesday morning, November 11th.  Let’s help the staff with these long days! Thank you for your consideration and support!

PTIA Fall Fundraiser
The Charleston Wrap Fundraiser is about to wrap up! Thank you to all who have participated so far! The fundraiser will close TODAY!. If you have any questions, please reach out to the PTIA at ptiawacousta@gmail.com or via Facebook.

Book Fair
Our Literati FALL Book Fair is right around the corner, and you are invited to come and celebrate reading! The book fair will begin Monday, November 10th, and end Friday, November 14th. It will be open to everyone during regular School Hours, as well as during parent-teacher conferences. Students will have an opportunity to preview books and be able to make purchases during school hours.

Books make great gifts!  You can also access the online “Companion Book Fair” at: eFairs.Literati.com  from  Oct. 17 – Nov. 10.  Once you reach the site, search for Wacousta Elementary to begin shopping.

Profits from the Book Fair are used to add books and supplies to our school's Media Center. Thank you for your support!

Your insight and collaboration make a real difference in your child’s learning journey. Please take a moment to sign up for a conference time. We look forward to connecting with you!
