Dear Beagle Middle School Families,

Here are some updates that we wanted to share at this time:

Solo and Ensemble Festival: On Saturday, our middle school band was represented at MSBOA Solo and Ensemble Festival by 32 students performing in a total of 30 events.  Three events earned a Division 2 (good) rating, with the other 27 earning Division 1 (excellent) ratings!

Essay Contest: The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission of Mid-Michigan has an essay contest for middle school students.  Monetary awards and certificates will be presented to the First ($500), Second ($350), and Third Place ($150) winners.  Students write a 250-300 word essay and speak to the "Until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream" (MLK) theme of the MLK Holiday Luncheon Celebration.  Learn more HERE.

Beagle PBIS PRIDE Store Seeking Donations: The Beagle PBIS PRIDE Store is seeking donations! Starting in December, students can turn in their PRIDE tickets for a chance to win a bigger prize. If you are interested in donating a prize to the PRIDE store, please check out our Amazon Wish List (below)-- it's full of fun, creative, and motivating prizes! If items are shipped directly to Beagle, please add a note: "Beagle Middle School: PBIS". Thank you in advance for your support! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/366JRNKFDCKNL?ref_=wl_share

Comet Council Food Drive: The Comet Council would like to thank everyone who donated items for the food drive. With your help we were able to deliver multiple carloads of goods and help our community. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Washing DC Trip Updates:

  • Fundraiser Information: Your student should have already brought home the next fundraiser: Holiday Treats! Fundraiser forms and collected money is due no later than Thursday, December 4th. Fundraiser Pick Up will be Thursday, December 18th from 3:30-5:30 PM in the Beagle Cafe.

  • All students signed up for the trip were given the Behavior Expectations Letter to be shared with parents/guardians regarding expectations in order to remain eligible to participate in the Washington DC Field Trip. Please contact your child's history teacher if you have any questions.

Hayes/Beagle PTO Meeting: Our next PTO meeting will be held here at Beagle Middle in our Media Center on Tuesday, January 13th at 6:30pm.  We encourage family members to attend these meetings.  We have a strong joint PTO thanks to the many volunteers that serve, and our PTO does a great deal for both school and our community.  Please join us if you are able to do so.  Please also know that attendance at one meeting does not necessitate or require future attendance; in short, family participation is consistently a “no strings attached” approach.
