Dear Beagle Middle School Families,
Here are some updates that we wanted to share at this time:
Introduction to Acting and Musical Theatre Classes: This week, our Musical Theatre and Introduction to Acting students engaged in their final performance for the trimester, and we had several family members, community members, and elementary students in attendance. We thank and celebrate our students for their hard work and efforts this trimester, and we also thank both Mrs. Burton and Mrs. Hager for their continued support and dedication to their programs.
8th Grade LCC Trip on Monday: 8th grade students will go to classes as usual on Monday morning. Near the top of 2nd hour, they will be sent to their assigned bus, which is based on their CNC teacher. 8th grade students were provided this information earlier in the week. 8th graders will be off campus from 9-11am for the tour of LCC’s Career Preparation Program. When they return to campus, they will take second lunch, and then engage in their course schedules accordingly. Please reference the email that Mrs. Hernandez sent this week for more detailed information.
Rising 9th Graders, GLHS Scheduling: Last week, Mrs. Tonya Rice, Assistant Principal at GLHS, sent our current 8th grade families a very detailed and succinct email regarding scheduling for next year; all resources–steps, course manuals, guides, etc–are included in this email. On Monday this week, GLHS counselors visited all 8th grade Science classrooms to provide a tutorial for high school scheduling next year, and both our Science teachers and GLHS counselors supported students making their requests in PowerSchool. Requests for high school scheduling are due on March 20th.
Rising 8th Graders, Elective Roadshow Next Week: On Friday next week, we will be meeting with our current 7th graders in the media center during Science classes to engage in the Elective Roadshow. Students will be provided with elective course descriptions and a pre-PowerSchool entry worksheet to fill out regarding their elective requests; here is that document: 26-27 Elective Course Descriptions--8th Grade - Google Docs.pdf . Our Science teachers will have students enter their elective requests into PowerSchool the week of March 16th. Elective requests are due in PowerSchool before spring break.
Comet Counsel Sundae Sale: Comet Counsel will be selling small ice cream sundaes during both lunches on March 10 and 11th. The little ice cream cups will be $1, and toppings will be .$50.

Hayes/Beagle PTO Meeting: Our next PTO meeting will be held at Beagle Middle School in the Media Center on Tuesday, March 10th, at 6:30 p.m. We welcome all families to attend. There is no cost to participate, and coming to a meeting is a simple way to stay connected and informed.
The Hayes/Beagle PTO supports meaningful events, activities, and opportunities for our students and staff, and this work is possible because of the many families who volunteer their time.
