Dear Beagle Middle School Families,
Here are some updates that we wanted to share at this time:
NWEA Updates: Our students did an outstanding job on Wednesday engaging in NWEA testing for ELA. At this time, nearly all of our students have completed both Math and ELA NWEA testing for winter. The few students that needs to complete the assessments will do so on Monday and Tuesday next week as the window closes at the end of next week. NWEA is a screener that is norm-referenced, providing us with data to monitor the progress of our students. Our Math and ELA teams will be engaging the analysis of this data later next week to help continue to guide instruction moving forward for the rest of the year. Winter scores will be available for students and parents to view within PowerSchool after the window closes.
Popcorn for Students, Thank you PTO: We thank our PTO for providing popcorn to our students today during both lunches. Students truly enjoyed this nice treat after NWEA testing.
Wrestlers Needed: Our middle school wrestling team is looking for more wrestlers at this time. The wrestling team is able to take new wrestlers on the team up until January 27th. Experience is not required as many of our wrestlers on the team do not have experience. Wrestling is an outstanding individual and team-based sport that helps build perseverance, grit, and resilience; in addition, the physical benefits from participating help students get through the winter months with a positive attitude. Those interested in wrestling should see either Mr. Kushman or Mr. Buckland for more information. For specific questions regarding wrestling practices and logistics, please contact Mr. Josh Bond, MS wrestling coach, for detailed information at joshb713@gmail.com.
