Dear Beagle Middle School Families,

Here are some updates that we wanted to share at this time:

NWEA Testing: Students did an outstanding job Math NWEA testing on Wednesday this week.  Make-ups for those that missed Math NWEA will continue to happen until we have all students tested as required by State law.  Next week on Wednesday, it will be a rinse and repeat from this week for ELA NWEA: report to CNC for ELA testing, altered schedule–hours 1-6 for the rest of the day.  We spread testing out for our students to prevent testing fatigue, and we will continue to do this during the spring testing season where students are taking M-STEP and PSAT (8th grade only).  Again, our students did a great job this week, and we know that they will continue to do great next week.

Wrestlers Needed: Our middle school wrestling team is looking for more wrestlers at this time. The wrestling team is able to take new wrestlers on the team up until January 27th.  Experience is not required as many of our wrestlers on the team do not have experience.  Wrestling is an outstanding individual and team-based sport that helps build perseverance, grit, and resilience; in addition, the physical benefits from participating help students get through the winter months with a positive attitude.  Those interested in wrestling should see either Mr. Kushman or Mr. Buckland for more information.

Winter PTO Sponsored Dance, January 30th:  Our wonderful PTO will be hosting a school dance right after school on Friday, January 30th.  Tickets will be $5 and sold during lunches the day of the dance.  The dance will be from 2:45-4:30pm. Family members interested in helping to chaperone the dance, please click on the following link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094BAAA92BABF4C43-61679060-beagle

Comet Council Talent Show: Later in March, our Comet Council will be hosting a talent show.  This week during lunches, students had the opportunity to obtain a form if they are interested in participating in the upcoming talent show.  Talent show forms are due to Mrs. Davis by January 30th.

LCC Big STEM Event: The Big STEAM event invites students in grades 7 through 12 to experience STEAM-related fields with exciting hands-on activities and chances to win prizes! Students can register using the link below: https://www.lcc.edu/calendar/event-details/abfac89d-3f19-43da-be60-2c205672bb47

Hayes/Beagle PTO Meeting: Our next PTO meeting will be held at Beagle Middle School in the Media Center on Tuesday, February 10th, at 6:30 p.m. We welcome all families to attend. There is no cost to participate, and coming to a meeting is a simple way to stay connected and informed. The Hayes/Beagle PTO supports meaningful events, activities, and opportunities for our students and staff, and this work is possible because of the many families who volunteer their time.
