Dear Beagle Middle School Families,
Here are some updates that we wanted to share at this time:
Upcoming Choir Concerts: Please mark your calendars for the upcoming Holiday Choir Concert on Monday, December 15th from 7-8:30pm at GLHS, which will spotlight our 8th grade Treble Choir along with the Hayes 6th grade choir students and Holiday Carolers. On December 16th–same time, same place–the Holiday Choir Concert continues with the 7th grade Treble Choir along with the 7th/8th Tenor/Baritone Choir.
Spirit Week next week: Monday—Snow Day, wear all white; Tuesday—wear a festive sweater; Wednesday—Candy Cane Day, wear red and white; Thursday—wear a holiday hat or headband; Friday—wear pajamas and bring a small stuffed animal.
Comet PRIDE School Store: Our Comet PRIDE School Store will be open for our students on Thursday, December 18th during both lunches. Students will have an opportunity to cash in some of their Comet PRIDE tickets they have earned for showing Comet PRIDE.
Kona Ice Hot Chocolate Next Friday: Kona Ice will be coming to Beagle on Friday, December 19th to offer hot chocolate to our students during both lunches. The cost is $5 for a hot chocolate and marshmallows. Proceeds go directly to our Comet PRIDE School Store.
Hour of AI: On Friday during science class, all Beagle students participated in the Hour of AI (formerly known as the Hour of Code). The Hour of AI learning experience introduces students to the basics of artificial intelligence - what it is, what it can and can’t do, and how to use and create with it responsibly. Through hands-on, fun activities, students explored how AI can be used to imagine, build, and solve real-world problems. Hopefully students got a chance to see computer coding and AI as a tool they can understand and shape the future with!
Girls Basketball Preseason informational Meeting: Tuesday 12/16 at 6:30 pm in the Beagle Cafeteria. We would like a parent and all 7th and 8th grade players to attend if possible.
Unified Comet Gear: Grand Ledge Public Schools is PROUD to be Unified Champion school district, supporting ALL students in their education and success. Gender and Sexuality Alliance Club (GSA): Beagle will be hosting an after-school GSA club beginning January 13th, recurring the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Meetings will run from 2:50-4pm in the media center. For many years, GLHS has had an after-school GSA club, and this club was formed to provide students the same opportunity hosted at the same time as the high school’s after-school GSA club meetings. Chromebook Reminders: Just a gentle reminder to our families to please make sure to make charging chromebooks at home as part of the nightly routine. A charged chromebook ensures no loss of learning time or disruption to the learning environment. We appreciate your support.
Beagle PBIS PRIDE Store Seeking Donations: The Beagle PBIS PRIDE Store is seeking donations! Starting in December, students can turn in their PRIDE tickets for a chance to win a bigger prize. Hayes/Beagle PTO Meeting: Our next PTO meeting will be held here at Beagle Middle in our Media Center on Tuesday, January 13th at 6:30pm. We encourage family members to attend these meetings. We have a strong joint PTO thanks to the many volunteers that serve, and our PTO does a great deal for both school and our community. Please join us if you are able to do so. Please also know that attendance at one meeting does not necessitate or require future attendance; in short, family participation is consistently a “no strings attached” approach. Grand Ledge Lacrosse Club: Registration Open! Winter Clinics - no experience, no problem!
Sundays, January 11th—March 1st, from 11:00am-1:00pm at the “Old Sam’s Club” 340 Edgewood Blvd, Lansing. New and returning boys and girls build skills with coaches and fellow players in an atmosphere focused on fun and positivity. Equipment available - first come, first served basis. Spring Season Registration is open and discounted until January 1, 2026 (use discount code EARLYBIRD25). The season runs Mid-March thru May with practices in Grand Ledge and games in the Greater Lansing Area.
