Dear Beagle Middle School Families,
Here are some updates that we wanted to share:
International Night, Thank You: We thank our students, family, and community members for their support of International Night last weekend! This annual event is a great opportunity to recognize all of the cultures in the Grand Ledge community. We are proud of our students and families that participated in this event!
MSTEP Updates: This week, our 7th graders engaged in Math MSTEP and 8th graders engaged in Science MSTEP. Make-up/finish-up testing sessions will begin next week, and they will continue throughout the month of April and into early May. MSTEP testing occurs within the applicable core content classroom during the normal school day. We thank our families for their continued support during testing season.
STEAM Showcase: WOW, what an annual event this has become! Thank you to Mrs. Fredericks, Mr. Jones, and Mrs. Goodwin along with all of our other volunteers and helpers for making this event a success. Congratulations also goes out to all of the amazing artists that had their work on display. Thank you to all of the family and community members that also showed up for this outstanding event!
Beagle Middle School Band: Congratulations go out to the Beagle Middle School band students who participated in MSBOA Solo and Ensemble Festival this last weekend in Adrian! We had 24 events participate; two events earned a Division 2 (good) rating, with TWENTY-TWO events earning a Division 1 (excellent) rating! Great job representing Grand Ledge!
PTO Sponsored Spring Dance, May 1st: The PTO sponsored semi-formal Spring Dance will be on Friday, May 1st from 6-8pm. The theme will be “Spring Garden Party.” Tickets will be sold the day of the dance during both lunches, and they will also be sold at the door the evening of the dance. During our PTO meeting this week, the PTO decided that the ticket price for this dance will be lowered to $2. This will be a great opportunity for our students, and we thank the PTO and our Comet Council for hosting this event.
Comet Council Food and Clothing Drive: The Student Council is hosting another food and clothing drive April 27th through April 29. The following donations are greatly appreciated: canned foods, toiletries, packaged foods, clothing for warm weather, shoes, unopened snacks, dinnerware, boxed snacks, accessories, baby clothes and baby items. There will be a white table near the office/ main entrance for drop off! Thank you in advance for your support.
Hayes/Beagle PTO Meeting: Our next PTO meeting will be held at Beagle Middle School in the Media Center on Tuesday, May 12th, at 6:30 p.m. If you’ve ever wondered how to get more involved at your student’s school—or how to stay up-to-date on what’s happening at Hayes and Beagle—the PTO is a great place to start. There is no cost to join, and attending a meeting is an easy way to hear updates, share ideas, and learn how fundraising supports programs and opportunities for students and staff. We’re also looking for volunteers, whether you can help once or several times during the year; we would love to have you involved. Come check it out and see how you can be part of supporting our school community.
