Dear Beagle Middle School Families,
Here are some updates that we wanted to share:
Parent Portal, Trimester 3: As we texted yesterday, ParentPortal will now automatically populate/open to trimester 3 when family members access their ParentPortal account. Our technology department adjusted to this yesterday for ease of use. Please note that trimester grades are those that are stored and part of a student’s permanent record. The year-long grade will not be stored.
International Night, April 18th, 4-8pm, BMS: Just a friendly reminder that International Night will be hosted here at Beagle Middle tomorrow from 4-8pm.
MSTEP Updates: This week, our 7th graders engaged in ELA MSTEP; 8th graders engaged in Social Studies MSTEP. Next week beginning on Wednesday, our 7th graders will engage in Math MSTEP; 8th grade will engage in Science MSTEP. Make-up/finish-up testing sessions will begin next week, and they will continue throughout the month of April and into early May. MSTEP testing occurs within the applicable core content classroom during the normal school day. We thank our families for their continued support during testing season.
STEAM Showcase, April 23rd, 6-7:30pm: Don't miss the 4th annual Beagle STEAM Showcase. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, April 23rd from 6-7:30pm. Each year the 2nd floor of Beagle Middle School is transformed into a different place and time with a TOP SECRET theme. The theme will be revealed as the doors open at 6pm. Shove It Pizza Truck and A&W will be here to celebrate the Arts & STEM programs. Bring your friends and families as this is a community event open to all. You won’t want to miss this one night only event! Check out this video link for more info! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4OLSyfGyyc
We thank, Mrs. Fredericks, Mr. Jones, and several of our staff members, in advance for their ongoing efforts preparing for this event.
PTO Sponsored Spring Dance, May 1st: The PTO sponsored semi-formal Spring Dance will be on Friday, May 1st from 6-8pm. The theme will be “Spring Garden Party.” Tickets will be sold the day of the dance during both lunches, and they will also be sold at the door the evening of the dance. During our PTO meeting this week, the PTO decided that the ticket price for this dance will be lowered to $2. If family members are interested in chaperoning this event, please sign up on the following link: https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/10C094BAAA92BABF4C43-62992810-beagle?useFullSite=false. This will be a great opportunity for our students, and we thank the PTO and our Comet Council for hosting this event.
Hayes/Beagle PTO Meeting: Our next PTO meeting will be held at Beagle Middle School in the Media Center on Tuesday, May 12th, at 6:30 p.m. If you’ve ever wondered how to get more involved at your student’s school—or how to stay up-to-date on what’s happening at Hayes and Beagle—the PTO is a great place to start. There is no cost to join, and attending a meeting is an easy way to hear updates, share ideas, and learn how fundraising supports programs and opportunities for students and staff. We’re also looking for volunteers, whether you can help once or several times during the year; we would love to have you involved. Come check it out and see how you can be part of supporting our school community.
