From Our Principal
We know having a positive and collaborative school-family relationship is critical to student success and are excited to see you all next week for conferences. Conferences focus on learning, although behavior and social concerns will be discussed as well. Our teachers will review your child's progress, including strengths and areas in need of improvement. You also might talk about standardized test results, individualized education plans (IEP), and 504 education plans. If you have not scheduled conferences, please do so at the following link: Parent Teacher Conferences Link
Don't forget to stop by our Book Fair during conferences. The Book Fair is in our Library and the family shopping hours are Monday, November 6th, and Thursday, November 9th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Our school hours are from 9:00 AM to 3:55 PM. Please know we completely understand when there is a necessary appointment during the school day that leads to a late drop-off or early pick-up. Unfortunately, on any given day we have 40 or more students either arrive 10-90 minutes late or leave school nearly an hour early missing consistent routines with critical lessons instructional time.
With the weather turning colder, please make sure your children are coming to school with appropriate clothing to be outside during recess. Students will go outside unless it is actively raining or the temperature or wind chill is below zero.
As always, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Makerspace needs your help!
We are looking for parent volunteers to help run makerspace on Monday’s during lunch recess!
Are you able to volunteer at the book fair? We need help with volunteers running the second cash register. Having two registers will help the line move quickly. If you are interested, please sign up here. (You can also come in early to learn the register; it’s quick to learn and easy to navigate.) Thank you for considering!
The in-person Scholastic Book Fair Family Shopping Nights will be on: Monday, Nov 6 from 5pm-8pm Thursday, Nov 9 from 5pm-8pm
*Please note that we will not be having in-school shopping at the book fair this fall. Please do not send money to school with your child.

Teacher Wish Lists
Usually during the Family Shopping Nights, our teachers will select books that they are interested in adding to their classroom library. Over the years, we have had many families purchase a book from a teacher’s pre-selected books, as a gift to them. There will be a table with wish list piles in front of the check-out desk in the library for anyone who is interested in donating a book.
Birthday Treats
Our classes do not have students bring in birthday treats. We have a number of food related allergies across the building so that is a practice we have not done for quite a number of years now. If your child wants to bring something for the class, it can be non-edible items like bookmarks, pencils, etc. Thank you for helping to keep our students safe.
Do you have any extra Halloween costumes at your home? If so, we could use them here at Delta Center! We would appreciate donations of gently-used costumes your child no longer needs. This may include character costumes, animals, or even sports jerseys. You can send this costume donation to school with your child or deliver it to your child's teacher at conferences. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated! Thank you!
