From Our Principal
Our Halloween parade begins at 2:45. Weather permitting, we will parade outside through the middle of the bus loop. Parents may line both sides of the bus loop. If it's raining, we will invite parents to line the walls of our gymnasium.
If you have not already done so, please sign up for ONE conference for your child. Our in-person options are on Monday and Thursday with a virtual option on Friday. Parent Teacher Conferences Link
We have nearly 300 students picked up each day and we would like to thank everyone who is helping our students stay safe by following our pick-up procedures. We kindly ask that you please avoid parking in non-designated parking spaces around the building's campus. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during our pick-up process.
As always, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Makerspace needs your help!
We are looking for parent volunteers to help run makerspace on Monday’s during lunch recess!
Are you able to volunteer at the book fair? We need help with volunteers running the second cash register. Having two registers will help the line move quickly. If you are interested, please sign up here. (You can also come in early to learn the register; it’s quick to learn and easy to navigate.) Thank you for considering!

Teacher Wish Lists
Usually during the Family Shopping Nights, our teachers will select books that they are interested in adding to their classroom library. Over the years, we have had many families purchase a book from a teacher’s pre-selected books, as a gift to them. There will be a table with wish list piles in front of the check-out desk in the library for anyone who is interested in donating a book.
Birthday Treats
Our classes do not have students bring in birthday treats. We have a number of food related allergies across the building so that is a practice we have not done for quite a number of years now. If your child wants to bring something for the class, it can be non-edible items like bookmarks, pencils, etc. Thank you for helping to keep our students safe.

The Grand Ledge Emergency Assistance Program (GLEAP) is currently taking applications for its annual Christmas Food Basket program for families who live in the Grand Ledge School District. Donors in the community (individuals & groups) have volunteered to provide a food basket during the Christmas season for families in need. If this would be helpful for your family, please submit an application by October 28 – pick up a paper application in the school's main office or complete an online application at GLcomets.net/ChristmasFoodBasket. You will be contacted by a donor sometime early in December. This will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis.
SteamFest is getting closer and we need your help to get the word out to the community! SteamFest is November 11th from 9-12:30PM in the A&S building. Our target audience is K-6th grade kids and their families.
If you are on Facebook, you can also help us get the word out by sharing the Facebook event to your page or even inviting friends to attend. https://www.facebook.com/events/694623698910426/?ref=newsfeed The Facebook event will direct them to the LCC event calendar to RSVP too.
We could also use your help in recruiting LCC student volunteers. In addition to our LCC faculty and staff, student volunteers make this event happen!
Here is a short paragraph that you could share to your D2L site:
SteamFest 2023 will take place at Lansing Community College in the Arts and Sciences Building on November 11th from 9-12:30PM. Almost every room in the building will have a STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art or Math) themed activity geared towards K-6th grade students and their families. This event is free and open to the public. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP here: https://www.lcc.edu/calendar/event-details/9f833c32-a997-4615-8724-7a6f624264c8
If you are interested in volunteering to help out with this event, we need LCC students to help our LCC faculty supervise the rooms! As a volunteer, you'll arrive at 8:30 where we'll give you a SteamFest T-shirt and you can grab some breakfast. Then you'll help out in your room from 9-12:30. At 12:30, we'll clean up and head over to Gannon for a pizza lunch.
