Dear Beagle Middle School Families,
Here are some updates we wanted to share at this time:
Curriculum Night, September 24th, 6:30-7:30pm: On Thursday, September 24th, we will be hosting a one-hour Curriculum Night at Beagle. Our teachers will be sharing information regarding their Essential Learnings for the school year. Family members will have the opportunity to move through their student’s schedule, hours 1-6. Each session within each classroom will be six minutes in duration with a four-minute transitional period to the next classroom. Family members planning on attending this event must know their student’s schedule via PowerSchool/Parent Portal. We will have school maps ready for our family members, which will have staff member’s names and room numbers. Below is how to find your student’s hourly schedule within PowerSchool/Parent Portal:
- To find your student’s schedule with room numbers and periods using the PowerSchool mobil application: use the bottom task bar to click on “Schedule;” this will populate the hourly schedule with room numbers.
- To find your student’s schedule with room numbers and periods using a web browser, here are the steps: on the start page, click “My Schedule” from the navigation menu. The “My Schedule” page appears. Click the “Week View” tab. The Week View page displays the student's schedule for the current week.
NWEA Testing: Math NWEA testing went very well this week. Next week on Monday, we will engage in the same process for the NWEA Reading screener. Please remind students to charge their Chromebooks over the weekend. On Monday, students will report to CNC in lieu of first hour, and we will have lunches and an altered schedule, hours 1-6, in the PM.
PowerSchool Reminder: Current data from this year so far shows that our family members and students are frequently reviewing PowerSchool for communications from our teachers via the Family Communication Archive, which is posted at the top of each teacher’s gradebook to review current essential learnings, upcoming larger assignments/projects/assessment, etc. We encourage our family members, especially our 7th grade family members, to continue to review PowerSchool to ensure student success and timely communication from our teaching staff.
Hayes/Beagle PTO: Hayes/Beagle PTO Meeting: Our next PTO meeting will be held at Beagle Middle School in the Media Center on Tuesday, October 20th, at 6:30 p.m. If you’ve ever wondered how to get more involved at your student’s school—or how to stay up-to-date on what’s happening at Hayes and Beagle—the PTO is a great place to start. There is no cost to join, and attending a meeting is an easy way to hear updates, share ideas, and learn how fundraising supports programs and opportunities for students and staff. We’re also looking for volunteers, whether you can help once or several times during the year; we would love to have you involved. Come check it out and see how you can be part of supporting our school community. November 13th, Half-Day 7:50-10:55am, only hours 1-6; Virtual Parent/Teacher Conferences 11:30-1:30pm.
