Dear Beagle Middle School Families,
Here are some updates that we wanted to share at this time:
District-Wide PD Tomorrow, No School: Friday, October 9th, no students report as our staff will engage in district-wide professional development. Classes resume on Monday, October 12th.
Comet Council, Thank You: We thank our Beagle Comet Council for engaging in a warm clothing drive this past week, and we thank our families that donated items as well. All donated items will be provided to families in need within the community.
Teacher to Family Member Communications: Just a friendly reminder for our family members to continue to use Parent Portal for communications from our teachers, which can be found at the top of each teacher’s gradebook. These communications are titled “Family Communication Archive." Our staff post important information regarding Essential Learnings, upcoming events, and larger assignments within this platform in lieu of inundating our families with several emails each week. If you have any questions regarding your child’s performance in the classroom or have any wonderings, please feel free to reach out directly to their teacher(s).
Motivational Speaker Coming Next Week: On October 15, we are hosting a special assembly for all students featuring youth motivational speaker: Corey “Basketball” Jones. Through basketball tricks, engaging competitions, and inspiring stories, Corey will encourage students to recognize how small, everyday choices involving effort, kindness, respect, and attitude can make a big impact on themselves and those around them. Logistics for the assembly will be shared with our students during CNC early next week. We will be running on an altered class schedule on Thursday, October 15th.
Washington, D.C. Information: The popcorn fundraiser pick up is Tuesday, 10/13 from 3:30 - 5:30pm in the Beagle Cafeteria.
Hayes/Beagle PTO: Hayes/Beagle PTO Meeting: Our next PTO meeting will be held at Beagle Middle School in the Media Center on Tuesday, October 20th, at 6:30 p.m. If you’ve ever wondered how to get more involved at your student’s school—or how to stay up-to-date on what’s happening at Hayes and Beagle—the PTO is a great place to start. There is no cost to join, and attending a meeting is an easy way to hear updates, share ideas, and learn how fundraising supports programs and opportunities for students and staff. We’re also looking for volunteers, whether you can help once or several times during the year; we would love to have you involved. Come check it out and see how you can be part of supporting our school community.
