Dear Beagle Middle School Families,
Here are some updates that we wanted to share at this time:
Parent/Teacher Conferences: There is still time to schedule for parent/teacher conferences. If you would like to attend parent/teacher conferences next week and have not signed up already, please click on the following link: https://ptcfast.com/schools/Beagle_Middle_School_2
Please note that our parent/teacher conference schedule will be different this year. Our parent/teacher conference schedule will be as follows:
- Monday, November 10th: in-person, both gyms, 4-7pm.
- Wednesday, November 12th: virtual from 4-5:50pm; in-person, in specific teacher’s classrooms 6-7pm. A 3-minute transition period will be built into the in-person conference sessions, so that parents can move from classroom-to-classroom. Please note that we cannot honor in-person conferences during the virtual sessions on this day.
- Friday, November 14th: virtual 11:30-2:30
Please Check Lost and Found During Conferences: Our lost and found is piled quite high, and we’ve been asking our students to check the lost and found for missing items on a regular basis. For families attending in-person conferences, please be sure to check our lost and found for missing items. At the end of next week, we are going to be donating these items to Ken Clark’s Coat Closet.
Unified PE Outing This Week: Tuesday, ten students from our Unified P.E. class were able to take a field trip with the GLHS Unified Soccer Club. Our vision was for students to see what opportunities they will have in high school so that they may continue to grow with our district wide Unified Champions Programs. Students traveled to the Unified Champion Inclusion Center in Grand Rapids. They went on a tour of the center to learn about classes and activities they offer at the world's largest Inclusion Center. Then students cheered for GLHS Unified Champions soccer club as they competed against other Michigan schools. Food Drive sponsored by Comet Council: Next week the Comet Council is sponsoring a food drive and spirit week. All donations will be sent to the Grand Ledge Seventh Day Adventist - Food Distribution Center.
Here are the highlights for next week:
- Monday: Toiletry items and PJ day
- Tuesday: Clothes (any size) and wear an oversized shirt
- Wednesday: Canned goods or snacks and wear travel clothes
- Thursday: Dinnerware (paper plates, bowls, or plastic silverware) and Movie Character Day
- Friday: Baby Items and Grand Ledge Day
Washing DC Trip Updates: Wreath fundraiser pick up is scheduled for Thursday, November 20th from 3:30 - 5:30 in front of Beagle.
Strength and Speed Training: Middle school strength and speed training class will begin Tuesday November 18th. It is open to all 7-8th graders. Hayes/Beagle PTO Meeting: Our next PTO meeting will be held here at Beagle Middle in our Media Center on Tuesday, November 11th at 6:30pm. We encourage family members to attend these meetings. We have a strong joint PTO thanks to the many volunteers that serve, and our PTO does a great deal for both school and our community. Please join us if you are able to do so. Please also know that attendance at one meeting does not necessitate or require future attendance; in short, family participation is consistently a “no strings attached” approach. Upcoming Important Dates:
11/10, 11/12, and 11/14/25–Parent/Teacher Conferences
11/14/25–Half-Day for Students, End of Trimester 1
11/17/25–Trimester Two begins, students taking trimester-long electives rotate into new electives at this time.
11/26-12/1/25–Thanksgiving Recess, No School, classes resume Tuesday, December 2nd as Monday, December 1st is District-Wide PD.
