YOUTH COED SOCCER
SPRING 2026
MINI COMETS (3 & 4 Year Olds)
Participants MUST be at least 3 years old by 4/12/2026 in order to participate in the Mini Comets League
April 12 – May 16, 2026 (6 weeks) - Saturdays (Except for week #1)
PLEASE NOTE: Week #1 Practices/Games will take place on SUNDAY, APRIL 12TH
Practices/Games will be held on Saturday’s at a GLPS Track Parking Lot Fields (Week #1 is on Sun. 4/12)
Game Times: TBD - Schedules will be in the coaches packet handed out at the coaches mtg.
The first 25 minutes will be instructional followed by a 25 minute game.
This league plays 5 v 5. Size 3 ball is used. Shin guards required. Soccer cleats recommended
CUB COMETS (5 yr olds & Kindergarten)
Participants MUST be at least 5 years old by 4/12/2026 in order to participate in Cub Comets League
**If your child turns 5 by 4/12/26 and not yet in Kindergarten please register for the Cub Comets 5yr/Kindergarten League. 5 years old places them out of the Mini Comets League.
**If your child is in Begindergarten, we consider that the same as Kindergarten, please enroll them into the Cub Comets 5/Kindergarten League.
Game Location: GLHS Community Turf Stadium.
Game Times: TBD - Schedules will be in the coaches packet handed out at the coaches mtg.
Practice Locations: Delta Center, Delta Mills EC, Hayes, Fitzgerald Park, Willow Ridge & Wacousta
One practice per week for 1 hr (day/time/location chosen by volunteer coach at the coaches meeting)

LITTLE COMETS (1st & 2nd Grade)
Game Location: GLHS Community Turf Stadium.

GOLDEN COMETS (5th & 6th Grade)
Game Location: Boughton Field (650 Green St., GL)
Game Times: TBD - Schedules will be in the coaches packet handed out at the coaches mtg.
Practice Locations: Hayes Middle School (location of our larger field) Some teams could practice on the smaller fields
This league plays 7 v 7. Size 5 ball is used. Shin guards required. Soccer cleats recommended.
REGISTRATION FEE – $65 (Fee includes a team jersey)
$10 Late Fee after March 1, 2026 (if space permits) – Late fees are Non-Refundable
REGISTRATION DEADLINE – Sunday, March 1, 2026 @ 11:59pm
Late registration will be accepted until 3/20/26 or until the league fills, whichever comes first.

Please Note: starting Monday, March 2nd the process of teams being formed, coaches assigned and team jersey are ordered so the longer you wait to register after the deadline the less likely your child will be placed with kids from their school, or special request is honored, or their exact jersey size is available.

COACHES MEETING: Monday, March 23rd at 6pm
Location - TBD ~ Coaches will receive an email one week prior to the meeting date with all the details regarding the meeting.
You'll hear from your coach shortly after the coaches meeting.
TEAMS & SPECIAL REQUESTS:
Mini Comet teams are formed by separating age and gender as evenly as possible. In all the rest of the leagues, teams are formed based on school (when possible) while also considering evenly separating gender if there is more than one team for that school. After schools are separated then special requests are taken into consideration. SPECIAL REQUESTS ARE NOT GUARANTEED! Please understand that there are typically 900-1000 kids in this program. Putting teams together is a challenging puzzle and we try our best to honor as many special requests as possible, as long as the request is within the same age/grade division and placed prior to the registration deadline.
PRACTICE CONFLICT:
If you have a practice conflict you may contact the Community Rec Office prior to Mon. April 6, 2026 and efforts will be made to move your child to a different team IF SPACE PERMITS. If the league is full and there is no room to move your child, a refund can be issued if the request took place prior to April 6, 2026. Please Note: The Athletic/Community Rec Office is closed during Spring Break (3/27 - 4/5).
REFUND POLICY
Refunds are issued if the request is made on or prior to Monday, April 6, 2026.
Late Fees are non-refundable.
