Highlights and Happenings from Ms. Smith
What a fun week it has been at Wacousta! Spirit Week brought so many smiles as students arrived in cozy winter gear and festive holiday pajamas. Your students filled our hallways with excitement and cheer. I love the energy that elementary students bring to the season.
Classroom parties were a big hit with creative crafts, fun games, and lots of laughter. Our sing-along was a wonderful moment of togetherness as our school community came together to celebrate the season. Thank you for helping make these moments so special for our students. As we head into winter break, we wish you and your family a happy holiday season and a joyful, healthy New Year.

A heartfelt thank you to our PTIA for organizing such a wonderful Holiday Shop! Our students absolutely loved the opportunity to pick out special gifts for their family members. It was so fun to see the smiles on their faces as they wrapped their gifts. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and care the PTIA gives to our school, especially during this busy season. Your continued support makes a meaningful difference for our students and families.
Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run will be coming to Wacousta this spring! This program will enable our 3rd and 4th grade girls to build life skills while working towards the ultimate goal of running a 5K in mid-May. More info on registering students will be coming in January, but right now we are recruiting coaches. All coaches need to be 18, complete a coach application, consent to & complete a background check, complete an in-person coach training on January 31 or Feb 7, commit to attending 2 ninety-minute practices a week (right after school on Tuesdays & Thursdays) starting February 24th for 10 weeks. You can check for nutritional information, filter allergens, and translate the menu into 50+ languages! It's a very helpful tool for parents and staff members.
