Girls Who Code
The Girls Who Code Club will focus on three main things that we hope club members get out of their experience: Coding, Sisterhood and real-world relevance and impact. The club will be meeting once a week on Tuesdays at Hayes Intermediate from 2:30-3:30, starting the first week after the holiday break. If your child is interested in being part of our club, please email Mrs. Short (shortj@glcomets.net) or Mrs. Lee (Leek@glcomets.net) by Thursday, December 21st. In the email include your child’s first and last name and homeroom teacher. Once information is received from a parent/guardian, an email will come from Girls Who Code HQ inviting the student to register and join the program.

Helping Hayes Students During the Holidays
Hayes Intermediate, in partnership with the First Congregational Church, is helping to support 11 students over the holidays with clothes, shoes, games, and toys. A special thank you to Sandy Sipes from First Congregational who has shopped for and wrapped the gifts. Sandy also stocks our school store with clothes and personal hygiene items with donations from their church and donations from our staff.
Hayes and GLEAP also work together to support two families with meals over the holidays. If you would like to know how you can help support over the holidays or to help fill our school store for families in need, please contact Lisa Nelson in our school office.
Hayes Happenings
Hayes Happenings is our weekly news show that is directed, produced, and edited under the guidance of teachers Jacque Cosgrove (on maternity leave) and Allison Shumate. Here is a link to the episodes from this school year so far:
