Dear Hayes Intermediate School Families,
Recess Continues!
Unless it is raining or the temperature is below zero, we have recess outdoors at Hayes. Recess happens at the end of the lunch period; teachers can also choose to take their classes out for additional recess periodically during the week. It is essential that students are properly dressed for the weather. As it gets colder, winter hats, gloves, jackets, and (for those who want to play in the snow) boots and snow pants are essential.
Mid Day Student Pickup for Appointments
When you arrive at the school to pick up your student, then we will call them down to the office. Previously, many students sat in the office for long periods of time waiting to be picked up after the office received a phone call indicating that a family member was on the way to pick them up. Students missed valuable instruction time and were exposed to sick students who came to the office area. Therefore, once you arrive, we will work as quickly as possible to get your student to you.
Communication Survey Followup
Recently we asked families to share their thoughts on the amount of communication received from Hayes Intermediate School. Out of 83 responses, 87% of respondents feel that the amount of communication is just right. While we appreciate all responses, we are especially thankful for the constructive written feedback received and plan to use this within our Teacher Leadership Team to see how we can improve even more.
