Dear Beagle Middle School Families,
We thank our families that were able to attend our Curriculum Night last night. It was great to see so many family members meeting with our staff to learn about Essential Learnings for the year. If you were not able to attend last night’s Curriculum Night, please feel free to connect with your child’s teachers via email regarding their Essential Learnings for the year. Also, many of our teachers will be posting their slideshow presentations from this evening into the Family Communication Archive in the near future; the Family Communication Archive, updated every other week, can be found at the top of each teacher’s grade book in PowerSchool. This mode of communication helps to keep our families informed about current Essential Learnings; larger upcoming assignments, projects, and assessments; and important updates in a fashion that does not inundate our families with emails.

Homecoming Next Week, School Spirit Organized by our Student Comet Council:
As we move into next week, we will provide our student body with positive pre-corrects about showing Comet PRIDE at Homecoming festivities, and we appreciate these messages to be continued at home. We are looking forward to seeing our students and family members at the homecoming festivities next week on Friday.
Grand Ledge Emergency Assistance Program: The Grand Ledge Emergency Assistance Program (GLEAP) is currently taking applications for its annual Christmas Food Basket program for families who live in the Grand Ledge School District. Donors in the community (individuals and groups) have volunteered to help provide a food basket/food o-only gift care during the Christmas season for families in need. If this would be helpful for your family, please apply by October 28, 2026. You may pick up a paper application in the school’s main office or complete the one attached to this newsletter. You may return the completed application to the school’s main office. Assistance is not guaranteed and will be given based on the donations received by GLEAP. You will be notified of eligibility by Dec. 10, 2026 by email or phone (call or text). Hayes/Beagle PTO: Hayes/Beagle PTO Meeting: Our next PTO meeting will be held at Beagle Middle School in the Media Center on Tuesday, October 20th, at 6:30 p.m. If you’ve ever wondered how to get more involved at your student’s school—or how to stay up-to-date on what’s happening at Hayes and Beagle—the PTO is a great place to start. There is no cost to join, and attending a meeting is an easy way to hear updates, share ideas, and learn how fundraising supports programs and opportunities for students and staff. We’re also looking for volunteers, whether you can help once or several times during the year; we would love to have you involved. Come check it out and see how you can be part of supporting our school community. September 29th–Picture Retake Day, available for all students that would desire a re-take or those that did not get their picture taken earlier this year.
October 7th, Student Count Day per State of Michigan
October 9th, Teacher PD, no students. Classes resume on October 12th
November 9th, In-Person, Parent/Teacher Conferences, 4-7pm, registration sent later October
November 11th, Virtual, Parent/Teacher Conferences, 4-7pm
November 13th, Half-Day 7:50-10:55am, only hours 1-6; Virtual Parent/Teacher Conferences 11:30-1:30pm.
