Dear Beagle Middle School Families,
Here are some updates that we wanted to share at this time:
Support for Grieving Family: We wanted to thank our family members for the continued support this week after the loss of our 7th grade student, Michael Sammon, last Friday. This was a very long, challenging, and emotional week for family members, students, and staff. However, as a team and with appropriate and timely supports in place, we were able to support students and staff as needed. After our interventions on Friday with our grief and loss team, we utilized a variety of tools, including a google survey sent to all students, to see which students needed continued and systemic support throughout the week, and these supports were provided by our counseling team. Again, thank you family members for your continued care and support, and please continue to keep Michael’s family in your thoughts. Thank you PTO for Cider and Donuts: Today during CNC, our students received cider and donuts on behalf of our PTO, and we wanted to send along a thank you to our wonderful PTO for this treat! A special thank you to Missy Charbonneau and Whitney Truax for pick and delivery to school today. The students enjoyed the treats!
Halloween Costumes: Since tomorrow is Halloween, we have been reminding students that costumes are not permitted at school. We appreciate this message being reiterated at home.
Parent/Teacher Conferences: Please note that our parent/teacher conference schedule will be different this year. Our parent/teacher conference schedule will be as follows:
- Monday, November 10th: in-person, both gyms, 4-7pm.
- Wednesday, November 12th: virtual from 4-5:50pm; in-person, in specific teacher’s classrooms 6-7pm. A 3-minute transition period will be built into the in-person conference sessions, so that parents can move from classroom-to-classroom. Please note that we cannot honor in-person conferences during the virtual sessions on this day.
- Friday, November 14th: virtual 11:30-2:30
Mrs. Pelette, secretary, sent out scheduling information to families on Monday, October 27th. If you have any questions regarding signing up for parent/teacher conferences, please connect with Mrs. Pelette directly at palettel@glcomets.net.
Hayes/Beagle PTO Meeting: Our next PTO meeting will be held here at Beagle Middle in our Media Center on Tuesday, November 11th at 6:30pm. We encourage family members to attend these meetings. We have a strong joint PTO thanks to the many volunteers that serve, and our PTO does a great deal for both school and our community. Please join us if you are able to do so. Please also know that attendance at one meeting does not necessitate or require future attendance; in short, family participation is consistently a “no strings attached” approach.
