Dear Beagle Middle School Families,
It was so great to see so many families and students last week during schedule distribution and last night during Open House! We are excited to kick off another year here at Beagle Middle.
Since Tuesday next week is the first day of school, which is a full day, we wanted to send out some reminders from last week’s newsletter, especially within the first link below. This area of our website contains several important pieces of information for our families, especially at the beginning of the year. We encourage our families to review the pages within the above link. For families dropping off, please ensure to read the morning drop off/pick up procedures. We also kindly ask parents to pull all the way forward to the South end of the building when using the drop off lane. If students are dropped off in the parking lot, they must be crossed by our crossing guard in front of the main entrance.
Student Support Presentations: During the first week of school, we meet with all students out of their Social Studies classes by grade level to introduce our Student Support Team members. This presentation focuses on our school-wide expectations in showing Comet PRIDE on a daily basis by being Positive, Respectful, having Integrity, and making a Determined Effort in all that we do in our everyday lives. In addition, students get to meet their support team members and learn more about how we can better support our students throughout the year. 7th graders will meet with the team on August 28th; 8th graders will meet with the team on August 29th.
Athletics: Please watch for updates from Mr. Jim Price, our middle school athletic director, moving forward. Also, if you are connected with a current team, please continuously keep an eye on the Team Reach Application as coaches will communicate directly with parents in this fashion. Throughout the year, we always inform students of upcoming middle school associated events via morning and lunch announcements, and Mr. Price will be communicating with families via email quarterly with updates regarding all middle school sports. If you have a specific question regarding middle school sports throughout the year at any time, please email Mr. Price at pricej@glcomets.net.
Backpacks: Please note that while we encourage locker usage, we do not force students to use their lockers. Students can carry their backpacks with them throughout the day.
Chromebooks: 7th graders will receive their chromebooks within their ELA class on Thursday, August 29th. After Labor Day, students should be bringing their chromebooks to school on a daily basis and home in the evenings as well.
