Dear Beagle Middle School Families,

Here are some updates that we wanted to share with you at this time:

April 9th, PSAT for 8th Grade: As we discussed before Spring Break, only our 8th graders will be reporting to school the morning of Wednesday, April 9th to take the PSAT 8; after the PSAT in the AM, our 8th graders will engage in an altered schedule for the rest of the day, attending all six classes.  Testing room locations were posted throughout the building this week, and we have been reminding our 8th graders to locate their assigned testing room.  8th graders need to be in their testing rooms by 7:50 AM the morning of April 9th, and attendance is vital on April 9th as students that are not present on the 9th will have to be pulled for testing at a later day, resulting in them missing first, best instruction.  In addition, once the test begins, we cannot pull students out of a testing session early for appointments per College Board regulations.  All students that start the assessment must complete it that day. Students may bring snacks (nut free, please) and water into the testing rooms.  Thank you goes out to our PTO for providing some snacks as well! Per College Board regulations, if a student enters the testing room with a cell phone, we must ensure the phone is turned completely off and placed on the proctor's desk; therefore, we encourage that 8th grade students simply do not bring their cell phones into the testing rooms at all.  8th graders will take the PSAT on their chromebook devices via the Bluebook application, so they should be sure to fully charge their chromebooks the evening before the test.

April 9th for 7th Graders, Delayed Start: As we also discussed before break, 7th graders will not be coming to school on Wednesday, April 9th until 11:50 AM given the logistic constraints we are under with giving the PSAT to our 8th graders.  In addition, we will not be able to serve our 7th graders lunch on Wednesday, so we apologize for this inconvenience in advance.  7th graders that ride the bus will be informed by their drivers on Tuesday evening approximately when they will be picked up on Wednesday with the delayed start; this information will also be available for families in the “Stop Finder” application.  We will receive both bus and parent drop-off 7th graders at 11:50 on Wednesday, and their half-day of school, attending all six classes, begins at noon.

PTO Sponsored “Go Fund Me” for Student Battling Cancer: The Hayes/Beagle PTO is sponsoring a “Go Fund Me” page for Noah Sible, current 7th grader at Beagle, who was recently diagnosed with brain cancer.  We thank families in advance for considering helping this family in their time of need.  We also thank our PTO for organizing this initiative.  Here is the link: https://tinyurl.com/3v2e97k7
