Phones & Internet Update # 2 - CLOSED SCHOOLS K-4 & half day 5-12
GLPS Families,
This morning, we discovered that district-wide, all of our internet and phones across the district are down. After investigation, it was determined that this is a county-wide / Eaton RESA issue, and that the timeline for repair is unknown. This means that we are unable to communicate in the case of an emergency, unable to access any web-based curriculum materials or print any web-based curriculum materials. In addition, we cannot control our HVAC systems and other key systems in the district.
Because this represents a communication and safety issue, as well as an academic one for our schools, unfortunately, we need to adjust our schedule today.
Elementary schools will be canceled today. We apologize for the short notice. Buses will not run to pick up students.
Secondary students are already in school in some cases, so we will be running a half day schedule. Buses will take Hayes, Beagle, and GLHS students home at the half day dismissal time. However, we encourage you to come pick your child up early, if possible. Remember, you cannot communicate with the main offices.
Adventure Club parents should arrange to pick up their child as soon as possible.
