Comprehensive Health Advisory Team (CHAT)

Grand Ledge Public Schools has long had a Comprehensive Health Advisory Team (CHAT), and it has served as the district’s Sex Education Advisory Board (SEAB), filled the role of the district’s Wellness Committee, and advised on other health matters.
On January 26, 2026, the Grand Ledge Public Schools Board of Education voted to clearly identify the district's Comprehensive Health Advisory Team (CHAT) as the Grand Ledge Public Schools Sex Education Advisory Board (SEAB). The GLPS Board of Education's action also recognized that it will be comprised of up to 10 CHAT Board members who will serve four-year (4-year) terms, noting that a CHAT Board member's service may be renewed by agreement of the individual member and the CHAT Board. The GLPS Board of Education specified it will name two CHAT Board members to serve as co-chairs, with one being a staff member and one being a parent of a student currently enrolled in the district. Furthermore, the GLPS Board of Education required that any CHAT Board vacancies be posted on the Academic Services webpage on the district website, along with a link to apply. New CHAT board members will be appointed by the current CHAT Board through majority vote.
The GLPS Board of Education appointed Kellee Auge (staff) and Amy Ellsworth (parent) as the co-chairs of the CHAT Board on January 26, 2026.
