2019-2020 GLHS School Safety Drills

As directed by the State of Michigan, Grand Ledge High School, as well as all Michigan schools, are required to conduct fire, tornado and lock down drills throughout the school year. 

Schools are required to conduct:  5 fire drills, 2 tornado drills and 3 lock-down drills. 

Fire/Tornado Drills shall be conducted during school hours and when the school is open to the public. Each school shall comply with these requirements and keep a record of the drills.   

Lock Down Drills shall include security measures that are appropriate to an emergency such as the release of hazardous material, or the presence of potentially dangerous individual on or near the premises. The school shall seek input from the administration of the school and the local public safety officials on the nature of the drills to be conducted.
