Dear Beagle Middle School Parents,

Here are some updates we wanted to share at this time:

Great Week!:  We just wanted to send along a huge shout-out to our students at this time, so that parents can help to reinforce at home this weekend.  Our kiddos did an amazing job this week despite the logistics of the week being all over the place.  On Monday, we had NWEA and shortened hours in the afternoon.  We also had MSTEP make-up test sessions throughout the week.  On Wednesday, our 7th graders attended Lugnuts while our 8th graders engaged in fun activities in the afternoon.  Despite all of these changes in our schedule throughout the week and all of the MSTEP testing the prior week, our students did an amazing job!  Please reinforce this at home.  Next week, we just have NWEA testing on Tuesday, and we are done with our spring testing sessions!

STEM Showcase:  We thank our families that were able to come out and attend our STEAM Showcase last night to celebrate all of the wonderful artwork and projects created by our students.  This was an amazing event.  Special thanks go out to Erin Fredericks–art teacher–in addition to the following STEM teachers: Mark Jones, Staci Nye, and Kelly Shumway for organizing and supporting this event for our students and families.  In addition, we thank all of the high school volunteers, parents, PTO members, and other Beagle Middle staff members that supported this wonderful opportunity.

Monday, May 22nd Career Day at Beagle: Monday, May 22nd is a half-day for students, and it’s also our Career Presentation Day here at Beagle.  We thank the 30+ parents that have signed up to present to our students!  Parents presenting on Monday will be greeted by their host teacher from 7:30-7:40 just inside our main entrance near the staff lounge.  We will have treats for our presenters in the staff lounge sponsored by our wonderful PTO. Classes will be about 25 minutes in duration on the 22nd as we will be following our half-day bell schedule.

Math NWEA–Tuesday, May 23rd:  Students will engage in the Math NWEA assessment on Tuesday in CNC.  Students will complete the Math NWEA in CNC from 7:55-10:42; they will attend all classes on a modified schedule and be provided lunch in the PM just like last week.

Students’ of the Week, Community, and Extra Curricular Resources:   To view our students of the week or to review additional community/extra curricular information on our webpage, then please click https://.glcomets.net/ourschools/beagle-middle-school/ and then click on the appropriate icon on the left side of our homepage.

Not Returning to GLPS:  If your student will not be returning to Grand Ledge Public Schools next year, please send an email to Joan Pedraza, head secretary, at pedrazaj@glcomets.net.

These are all the updates we have at this time.

Take care,

Dave and Eric
