Dear Beagle Middle School Parents, 


We hope that you and your family were able to enjoy time together over break.  It’s hard to imagine that we are now moving into the second week of the second trimester! Our students did an amazing job this past week in showing high levels of Comet PRIDE returning from break.  
  
Here are some updates that we wanted to pass along:

Girls’ Basketball Parent Meeting: Girls’ basketball season is about to begin, and Mrs. Shumway–Science teacher and coach–will be hosting an informational parent meeting on Wednesday, December 7th at 6:30pm in the Beagle cafe’.  For more information, click here: 7th and 8th Grade Girls Basketball Parent Meeting.pdf 

Kona Ice Hot Chocolate Fundraiser: Our PTO and our PBIS team here at Beagle are hosting a hot chocolate fundraiser through Kona Ice on Wednesday, December 7th.  Those interested in participating must pre-order by 10am on Wednesday, December 7th.  The Kona Ice truck will be parked in the Beagle parking lot from 5:30-7:30pm for delivery.  Click here for more information: Beagle Fundraiser-2 (1).jpg 

Volunteers Still Needed for Career Pathways Presentation in May: We will be hosting a career day on Monday, May 22, 2023 (half-day) from 7:30am - 11am. We are still seeking volunteers from as many career pathways as possible in order to expose our students to the different opportunities available. The requirements would be:

  • A 20-minute slideshow or PowerPoint presentation to present to students.This presentation will be presented 5 times to a different group of students in a teacher's classroom with the teacher providing supervision.
  • Volunteers will need to fill out the online volunteer registration form through the link on the Grand Ledge Public Schools website, but this can be completed later in the year.  
  • Please consider bringing freebies or swag or any other fun thing to help students remember your career.

Please note that if you have already signed up to volunteer, our Career Day Committee here at Beagle have reached out to you via email regarding next steps.  If you have already signed up to volunteer, please look for this email and complete the necessary forms within the email.  We thank you for your willingness to support our students!

Winter Dance Planning Meeting:  On Thursday, December 8th, the PTO will be holding a Winter Dance planning meeting in the library here at Beagle at 7pm.  We greatly appreciate parent participation in the planning of this event.  

Winter Dance–Save the Date: The PTO will be hosting a Winter Dance here at Beagle on Friday, January 27th.  More information to come in subsequent newsletters.                           
Joint Hayes/Beagle PTO Meetings: Joint Hayes/Beagle PTO meetings are being hosted in a hybrid-fashion this year with the in-person opportunity being hosted here at Beagle in our media center.  Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30-7:30pm.  Our next PTO meeting will be on Tuesday, December 13th.  We welcome parents to attend our PTO meetings either in-person or virtually.  If interested in attending virtually, here is the link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82744686994
