June 11, 2021
Dear Hayes Parents,
With the last week of school upon us, this newsletter will be brief. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our parents for their continued support and patience throughout this dynamic school year. We could not have done it without your support! We are hoping for calmer waters next year as we are preparing for our transition over to Beagle Middle School.
On that note, please remember that we will be communicating with our middle school parents in August via email regarding orientation dates, and orientation will be based on construction progress at Beagle. During orientation, students will receive their schedule, and they will have an opportunity to tour the building as well. More to come here, so please watch your email in mid-to-late August for these dates. While we are actively building student schedules for next year, students and parents will not be able to view schedules in PowerSchool until we publish them in mid-to-late August. Once they are published in PowerSchool, parents and students will be notified via email.
The information below are repeats from last week--good information but nothing new.
Chromebook and Hotspot Collection
For all students with a school-issued chromebook and/or hotspot, the district will be collecting chromebooks at Grand Ledge High School:
Friday, June 18, 10:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Tuesday, June 22, 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Thursday, June 24, 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Please follow the specific directions provided by our technology department via email for returning chromebooks and/or hotspots to the high school.
For Current 8th Grade Families: Testing Out of High School Courses
The Test Out information is now live on the Student Services website:
https://www.glcomets.net/ourschools/high-school-grades-9---12/grandledgehighschool/counselingstudent-services/#testingout. Parents interested in having their child test out of high school courses should contact Mrs. Tonya Rice, assistant principal, for textbooks prior to the end of the year via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Textbooks will be available for checkout from June 8-June 17. Assessments will be given on August 16th and 17th at 10 AM, 1PM and 4 PM. Students are asked to select a test time when they complete the application.
For Families Leaving Grand Ledge Next Year
We are making plans for the 21-22 school year already! If you know that your child will not be attending GLPS next year, please send an email to email@example.com with your child's name, next year's grade and state that he or she will not be attending.
Well, that is all that we have for our final newsletter of the school year. Again, thank you for all of your support, patience, and teamwork this year! We couldn’t have done it without you! Have a great summer!
