Why Robotics Programs are Important for Middle School Students:

Students learn to solve the problems of tomorrow. Today’s students are facing a future propelled by rapid technological change. They
need to learn how to adapt to the changing technological environment and solve complex problems that require perseverance and out-of-the-box thinking. There is a worldwide demand in all STEM-based fields for students with hands-on problem-solving skills.

And it’s more than building robots. FIRST Tech Challenge teams are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format.

Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and working as a team.
